The Black Phone Horror
Scott Derrickson's claustrophobic thriller holds up well despite the lack of a continuation. Located in 1978 Denver, multiple disappearances has made the youth on edge. The Tammy Faye Biopic
In the struggle between spirituality and money, the winner is obvious for greed in this director's brilliantly over-the-top film adaptation about the fallen TV preacher and her felon spouse. Andrew Garfield portrays the corrupt Bakker, who proclaims early on, “God does not want us to be poor,”. The couple commence profiting from the American public's Christian beliefs. It's a spectacle of tacky decor, excessive cosmetics and insincerity, though Chastain manages to show the character with compassion. Next Tuesday, early morning, on Film4
